MOWING OUR WAY TO MARKET LEADERSHIP

MOWING OUR WAY TO MARKET LEADERSHIP

The biggest machinery yard in Northland, 100% family owned and operated, and now we celebrate 10 successful years in business… 2025, we’re here for you! Another year unfolds of supporting the rural community with direct ‘factory to farm’ imports of farm machinery and always, a customer-first mindset.

Together with European mower manufacturer SaMASZ, we have set an ambitious goal to be the market leader in New Zealand for hay mowers by 2027. This is excellent news for Kiwi farmers and contractors keen on a high-performing mower matched with a sharp price.

SaMASZ Regional Export Director, Lukasz Lapinski adds, our commitment to NZ market is indeed strong. We have identified it as Top 5 for growth. Apart from being a market with big sales potential, it is also an important location when it comes to modifications of our machines. Based on feedback from New Zealand, we have introduced for example new spring holder pins and modified the shape and mounting of conditioners’ tines. We are more than open to innovations coming from this challenging market.”

Achieving number 1 on the NZ market requires a high-performing offering – and we’ve partnered with the best. With a presence in more than 70 countries and more than 160,000 mowers produced since its inception in 1984, SaMASZ are leaders on the international stage.

SaMASZ celebrates 40 successful years.

In 2024, SaMASZ celebrated 40 years of successful business. 40 years of researching and refining their mowers to ensure the swath is very clean, while embracing energy efficiencies and reducing labour costs along the way. To support their work, SaMASZ recently opened a brand new 4,000sqm warehouse and laser-cutting hall to provide state-of-the-art automation of steel processing.

SaMASZ beauty is more than skin deep.

Towards the end of 2024, SaMASZ introduced a smart new black and green colourway across its fleet of mowers. More than just aesthetically-appealing, this painting process is very innovative.

The fully automated process uses a zinc phosphate surface preparation and E-COAT painting which allows the most complicated and hard to reach components to be thoroughly covered (and protected).

E-COAT also guarantees the highest anti-corrosion resistance - more than three times higher than standard iron phosphating. This is extremely important for achieving a perfect finish.

A well-equipped laboratory monitors the entire coating quality, which results in superior mechanical protection and resistance to weather conditions, corrosion and chemicals. These features are important to NZ farmers and contractors who often store machinery outdoors.

Wrapping up 2024

SaMASZ introduced many new mower models to the market in 2024, boosted by new design features and a refreshed colour scheme.

Bailey from GJ Graham Contracting sums up his 2024 season with FarmShop and SaMASZ; "Getting into the tail end of the season and not an issue all season... Front mower just over 1 year old and the rear mowers 3 years old now... Both very strong mowers."

To celebrate an excellent 2024 season, we gave away a Can-Am Defender valued at $31,500. To qualify, anyone who purchased a set of SaMASZ Grouper Mowers in the season went in the draw to win. The giveaway was announced in mid-January, and the team at Multi Ag in Waimate were the lucky recipients.

Multi Ag traded in their SIP mowers for a set of 9.4m SaMASZ Grouper Mowers, along with a 3.4m SaMASZ Front Mower at the end of 2024 and are now enjoying the hearty performance of the Can-Am. Stay tuned for the next FarmShop/SaMASZ competition due out soon!

Thanks to Unique Haulage for safely delivering the Can-Am from Kaiwaka to Waimate!

Looking ahead…Innovations in the SaMASZ mowers for the 2025 season will continue to strengthen our position in New Zealand. New models with conditioners include a 3.5m rear mower, the SaMASZ XT350 S, which is the biggest rear bar mower with conditioner. Engineered for optimal performance and user convenience, its hydro-pneumatic pressure relief system allows for seamless ground pressure adjustments directly from the tractor cab, ensuring consistent cutting across varied terrains.

The mower's central suspension provides balanced weight distribution and remarkable ground adaptation. For transportation, the XT 350 S offers a 125° inclined position, enhancing stability and unobstructed rear visibility. The integrated PerfectCUT cutterbar features a robust welded design and a quick knife replacement system for faster maintenance and less downtime.

The mower is also equipped with a hydraulic safety breakaway device, which means it will pivot when encountering obstacles and automatically return to its working position.

The KDD STH 9.1m and 9.4m models are now available with full ISOBUS compatibility, allowing seamless communication with ISOBUS-equipped tractors. Reputed to be the best value Grouper Mowers on the market, these models are equipped with a conveyor belt system enabling the formation of a swath from three mowers, eliminating the need for raking. The conveyor's drive and speed adjustments are managed via an independent hydraulic unit.

Designed to speed up the drying process of mowed material, the tine conditioner spans the full width of the cutterbar. It offers quick and easy adjustment of conditioning intensity, swath customisation to meet varying needs, and a two-step gearbox (700 / 1000 RPM) for conditioning intensity control.

With these advanced features, the SaMASZ KDD STH mowers deliver exceptional performance and adaptability for customers.
